The rise of stablecoins globally has now enabled a new class of crypto credit card that wasn't possible before: load funds and spend at most merchants globally through Visa or Mastercard rails.
In doing so, end users aren't really settling in crypto at all. Instead what we're seeing in an extension of traditional payment rails who are leveraging stablecoins as the latest means of extracting rent from merchants and end consumers.
In this talk we'll explore the last mile of crypto payments, survey stablecoin cards today and explore why we need contactless crypto payments to upend the EMV monopoly.
